Has anyone found a site yet with this information or are they working on compiling same? I would be glad to coordinate this and even the owners site info if it hasn't been done yet.

From the attached (the well-worn list of production models and hull numbers by year), just under 100?

Hull Number List

Sean and others,

I know it's not to the point of your posting of the list of how many 36's were made but the information about the E31 on that list is slightly off. The Ericson Cruising 31 was built from hull #01 to hull #25 (24 hulls as hull #13 was skipped) and the Ericson Independence started at hull #26 and ran through hull #70. Cape-Bay and/or Squadron Yachts bought the molds and built hulls #71, #72, #73 and #74.

Hull #72 is alive and well in Anacortes, WA or by now, Friday Harbor WA. Hulls #73 & #74 were never completed and the first six feet of the empty hull only (no deck was ever mated to it) of #74 is safe and sound in my garage here in Santa Monica while the rest of the hull has been chopped up and sent to a land fill near Waukegan, Illinois by now. Hull #71 is still shown as not located on my Owners' List.

If any of you are curious, I even have a photo of the bow from #74 being guarded by my latest guide dog, Clark. I'd add it to this posting but I've never figured out how to do it. Curious? Ask and I'll send it to you back channel.

I just tried to attach an image. Let's see if I had any luck.

See you and others at the Rendezvous. I can't wait, Glyn along with Marilyn and guide dog Clark

how many 36C's were made

E/36 - I (c) #1 (1975) thru
#66 (1977)
E/36 - II #1 (1981) thru
#32 (1984)

on the list I found this info and am assuming that there were 66 made of the c version to 1977. However, on yachtworld right now there is a c version listed as 1982.
Should the E/36 II also be the C version?

If it is an '82, it will be the Ron Holland E-36. Different boat entirely.
Or the broker has the wrong year listed...
Or,.....?

I looked at the Yachtworld link and it certainly is an Ericson 36-C. The year stated ('82) is puzzling, but a call to the broker to obtain the HIN should clear this up...

The 1975/1977 and 66 made is correct the other 36= is a Ron Holland design not a Bruce King !! Hope this helps you out - I own hull #36 of the 36 c's !! Kenn Porter !!

36's

I do not believe any 36C's were built after 1980, and there was no such things as a 36-2 AFAIK.

Any 36 foot Ericsons built in the 80's were RH 36's (as already noted) and have no relationship to the 36C (A BK boat).

We DID built a few 31C's during my years there (early 80's), but can't recall the last year.
Cheers,
S

Wondering

We were just looking at this list and wondering? How it could be we own a E-27 sail #174, built in 1978. If there were 1302 built and they stopped building them in 1979, this does not add up. They would have to built 1128 in 1979?

Your sail # is not necessarily your boats hull #. It could be a hand-me-down sail, or the sail # could mean something else entirely.

E36C hull #8 1976 Doing well

There were 66 E36C's built, designed by Bruced King. Pictured here, they have distinctive lines, and are the sexiest boat in the harbor; their function equals their form.

I just purchased a 1976 E27, Hull #1000,(maybe that is why it has a yellow hull!) according to the HID #. This seems to confuse some, including me (Insurance Co. for example) since they only have room for 12 digits. My HID has 13 digits.

I now own a 36C and my paperwork says Ericson 1982. The boat was formerly known as Easy Street and a few other names. The preivous owner, Bill, passed away and I have no babybook for the boat. In a notebook i found, at the top of the first page he wrote "custom 82 ericson". It is indeed a 36C, the layout is a bit different and there is cable steering instead of wormdrive. Photos to come, we are in yosemite but heading back to the boat soon. HIN is LNE360001682. Any info on this will be greatly appreciated! :)
