E35-2 - Deck fitting glassed to deck?

Interesting.... I wonder if I should replace them then.

Gallons of water in the keel!!?

There are definitely voids. It seems that there is a layer of foam in between the lead and the fiberglass. And water seems to move just fine through that foam. I've done my best to dry it. I've patched up the big blister. I think I've found an obvious spot that may leak (a PO cut a hole...

Gallons of water in the keel!!?

After finding one deep blister, I drilled a hole below it in search of more water. I ended up drilling 2 holes with perhaps gallons of water pouring out of the keel. I'm looking into it, and I think water may be seeping from the bilge down into the keel, but I'd appreciate any advice people have.

    35-2 Cored hull?

I went much less than an inch, but otherwise that's exactly what I am doing.

    35-2 Cored hull?

There's no way the Ericson 35-2 has a cored hull, right? Then what am I looking at? It sure looks like balsa sandwiched in between fiberglass at the thruhull for my speed sensor. #puzzled

    I'm hauled out at Berkeley.

    Keel Damage

I've never heard of an Ericson keel failing so I'm not overly concerned, but this did seem worth at least asking about. 1) There were a number of tiny blisters. We never would have noticed them if we didn't sand all of the old paint off. 2) When first inspecting the bottom, I noticed a...

Ericson 35-2 need a new strut

Whoa toddster. That looks crazy. As for the overall mount, mine was mounted the same way. There were some bolts from the top of the hull that held the strut on. For some unknown reason, these bolts were glassed over. But... there was a bunch of filler (epoxy?) that covered up the plate...

Ericson 35-2 need a new strut

Marine Hardware wanted $830 for a replacement and can't ship it for at least 3 weeks. Buck Algonquin has some adjustable struts and it seems one of them will fit. It's either this one, or one size "deeper" as it seems the height is adjustable in addition to the angle...

Ericson 35-2 need a new strut

Tenders, thanks super useful. Garry, my boat already had a 1" prop shaft. I guess it came with one unless the strut has already been replaced once.

Ericson 35-2 need a new strut

I have and Ericson 35-2. It's one of the ones made with the engine under the stairs. My strut has corroded away. Does anyone have a source for a replacement strut. Ideally they'd already have a casting and can just pour me a new one. Speed is of the essence. I need to get this boat back...

    Galley sink drain

The galley sink originally connected to the thru hull shared by both starboard cockpit drains. The fridge just drains to the bilge, but I've never seen exactly where.

    Can I revive my nonskid?

I've seen two other Ericson's that used sand. I believe one of them ground down the original non-skid such that it was flat then applied the new surface and it looked and worked great. And I saw another one that tried putting paint with sand over the original "grid" and the sand seemed to...

    Can I revive my nonskid?

How did you prep for that? Did you just put it directly over the original "grid" non-skid?

    Can I revive my nonskid?

I've got the same issue. After who knows how many paint jobs on my deck through the years, my non-skid is super slippery. Ive seen at least one Ericson, where they added grit to the paint to try to solve this problem and most of it seemed to go into the cracks. It didn't look good and...
