Broken Strut my strut broke off at the hull...I had a custom SS strut made by a company in Sarasota. The angles have to be near perfect. It was made to bolt to the hull with a plate and 4 bolts. in your case you might find a welder who can braze it back together. hell have to remove the cutlass...

Phil, If your engine has a fresh water cooling loop then the fresh water pump may be located near the rear of the engine and under the intake air manifold facing aft .OR it could be in the upper right front of the engine. This fresh water pump, pumps water thru the heat exchanger counter flow...

1985 e 28.5 Phil, Have sailed my 28-5 for 17 years on the Tampa Bay. This is a excellent sail boat. Fractional rig with big jenny allows me to sail 80% of the time with just the jenny and have hit 7.5 knots with just the jenny on a broad reach. Be sure to check the fresh water...

starter problem. Check the Key switch my friend..mine fell apart after 28 years..

I had that problem with my 5411 a few years ago and it was the key switch...bought one at the Diesel store and one at West marine...now I have a extra...they are $40 or $50 bucks good luck

Holy Cow..."You all" just made me go to the marina and check Infatuation...this week the boat 2 slips down sank and the marina crew pumped her out...do not know the cause ...she has an outboard so probably saved the boat. As bad as it is, at least Bob could save Terra Nova...I never closed...

replacement exhaust rizer on 5411 universal Hi Pat, I replaced original with a Westerbeke about 12 years ago...Then a couple of weeks back I noticed a leak on the hose exiting the riser and observed very little exhaust and water coming out the exhaust pipe but a high pressure stream of water...

Time to replace the exhaust riser. Last time I replaced the original with a Westerbeke. The Westerbeke may no longer be available. Does anyone know an alternative? Thanks in advance. Al
