    bulkhead wood species?

Honduran Mahogany When looking for the mahogany ply for your bulkhead, try to find Honduran mahogany. The Phillipine (sp?) mahogany is more of a coppery color. I've used both on my E29 and you can tell the difference.

    Leaking chain plates/stipped out holes

Flexible caulking Seems that putting something non-flexible would be asking for future problems. Remove the cover around the chain plate, then force something like boatlife caulking down the opening around the chainplate with a putty knife. Allow several hours curing time before you replace the...

Frozen gate valve- best way to seal??

Leaking where? Is the gate valve leaking or is it the stem? If it's the gate, open the valve a little (pipe it to a bucket) then close it off again. It may have trash on the gate or seat. If the stem is leaking, try tightening the packing nut on the stem.

    Refrigerator Lid Insulation

Condensation Randy and All, It stopped most of the condensation. Around the lip where there is no insulation gets a little moisture on it. Not enough for a margarita glass to slide around on! It depends on how humid it is.

    Refrigerator Lid Insulation

Closed cell PVC foam I ran across a piece of closed cell PVC foam for my reefer lid. I used 2 sided tape to hold it in place. I put it on the bottom of the lid, cut it in half over the hinge and it's been there for 13 yrs.

How to install water pump impeller w/o pulling shaft?

Remove rough edges When you remove the shaft, inspect for burrs and sharp edges. Where the shaft is slotted on the end, the edges get hammered out during use. Take a small file and chamfer the edges back about 1/32" to 1/16", then take a piece of emory cloth and polish the shaft. Use a motion...

    A-4 problem

Fuel Pump? Mike, Do you have the mechanical fuel pump or have you replaced it with an electric pump. My mechanical pump went out and it would pump enough gas to fill the carb. bowl for a few seconds and then the bowl would run dry, especially if I tried to throttle up. Had a hole in the...

Coffee Maker & other cooking neccessities?

Dunking bags Before you give up on instant coffee, try the dunking bags. I use a tea kettle to heat the water then start dunking (I prefer Folgers). Tastes better than instant and no coffee grounds to spill...
