I need spreaders, do you have all 4?

To barrier coat or not to barrier coat?

I speak for the idea of sand/soda blasting all the old bottom paint off before barrier coating.

Original Sheer & Boot Stripe color options on the E35-MII

When we first got our 35-2 we had all the old bottom paint blasted off. The original boot strip was gelcoated a light forest green.

    Help needed- Bimini 33RH

Something to consider, the most shade possible while at anchor, in the slip, or sailing with just the genny is a nice big awning that goes above the boom. Mine extends 1' past the beam on either side and runs from the aft lowers to the topping lift 12W x 10L. I use 2 1.5"AL tubes for support...

    What sextant ?

Shooting stars from a small sailboat at sea is exceedingly difficult. The sun is a different matter. You can navigate pretty well with just sun sights, dead reckoning, and a running fix. This process is simply laid out in Sun Sight Sailing by S.L. Seaton. A heavier metal sextant like the navy...

    Fiberglass headliner structure

If you removed the fiberglass headliner what would you do with the top of the bulkheads? What do they do with the tops of the bulkheads in 35-2s with vinyl headliners?

    Fiberglass headliner structure

I have been wondering the same thing about my 35-2 and as I am about to replace the Stbd bulkhead why aren't the bulkheads attached to the bottom of the decks?

    E32-3 compared to catalina 30-2

Dear Scandium, You repeatedly mention a willingness/desire for a boat that feels better/nice to sail. I own a 35-2, have sailed on a 32-3 and C-30. The Ericsons all feel better/nicer to sail. They look better too.

    Ericson 35 Mk II Oscillations

My 35-2 is a difficult boat to steer well with a wheel. It is easier with a tiller (I switch back and forth). The rudder is undersized and many have replaced it with a larger more modern one from Foss. Someday I will too.

    New mainsail catches on backstay

Lots of racing mains extend past the backstay. Keep the new main for racing and use the old one for cruising.

    E35-2 Folding or Feathering Prop

I have a mid engine 35-2 that had a Martec folding prop. One day it fell off and I borrowed a 3 bladed prop to replace it. That 3 bladed prop cost me about a knot of boat speed. I couldn't get it off fast enough. Bought another Martec off ebay and made sure it was installed properly. The yard...

    Folding props

Love my martec elliptical folding prop!! Tried a 3 fixed for awhile, hated the noise when free wheeling and the drag cost me at least 0.5 knots if not more. I have plenty of forward thrust and only seldom use reverse.

    E35-2 lower shrouds

The tie down plates on my 35-2 were removed. On the port side there are filled in holes, under where the tie down plate was, in the main bulkhead that I imagine belonged to a chainplate type attachment for the tie down plate. On the starboard side I have a built in liqour cabinet and I don't...
