    35-3 CNG tank size

we don't get a choice of sizes either. Just a big, old, steel scuba tank full of cng. I'm going to be sad to leave the realm of cng for LP- heavier than air explosive gas kind of scares me.

    DIY salute cannon?

Law enforcement was consulted when they made the change- it still meets legal requirements for length- just a little shorter so it is not so unwieldy. Our club works pretty hard to stay within the confines of the law on most things- now if I could just get them (and all the chesapeake racing...

    DIY salute cannon?

Our club doesn't use the 10ga cannon anymore either- they used to use it for the "gun" on Race Committee- but too many people blew holes in gelcoat or canvas with the blanks to make it seem safe. We now use a sawed off shotgun & blanks, which would be a little safer (though not much- couple of...

    A sign of the times.

In our area the transfer of the 22-24ft power boat range up an income level has been pretty obvious. There are tons of them for sale on roadsides. I don't argue- if they are on a trailer in a field with a 4-sale sign, they aren't cutting across my bow:egrin:

    Lewmar Opening Ports

There is a kit available out there. There's a nice scan of an article in the documents section under non-model specific on rebuilding/mainaining.

    Did Ericson build a 51'?

a design that never got built? Maybe became the 46? It would have been cool to see! Never seen that ad, thanks Jeff.

    Steering Maintenance

Mine climbs the rig (I'm terrified of heights) on a pretty regular basis on our boat and those of friends- so I climb around like a monkey and don't complain:egrin:.

    www.boatpix.com ??

We've had good luck with Boatpix a couple of times... We get them as gifts for the owners of boats we race on. Their regatta photos usually have at least 1 or 2 really good shots in the group and their printing is top notch. I'm not a big fan of their business model, but it's not my...

    E 38 Spin sheet leads

we use coach-top winches if needed- another option is getting ratchet blocks. assuming the boat in the photo in question is "15", I'd also lower the pole and stretch the "luff" to help pull the draft fwd. If you do a lot of this kind of thing, I'd also argue for a "Seth Special" 90%max size...

    Hitting the Mark

I don't believe so, but if you're that close to the mark you should have inside rights anyway. Outside boats need to give you enough room to round in a seaman like fasion. If you've put yourself inside the circle with no rights- that's a good lesson to learn. Also might be worth suggesting...

    Interesting Sailing Weather web site.

Big fan I use sailflow (WELL worth the $8/month) as well as the http://www.arl.noaa.gov/ready/cmet.html models, especially the windgram (assuming surface winds at 1000mb). when everything lines up, I work under the theory that is what will happen... Just give the closest airport code you can-...

    Garmin warning

usually the compass for the wheel pilot is pretty far from everything in the cockpit.

    E-30+ mast wiring

not sure what mast or vintage, but the kenyon spar on our '88 E-38 had the cover slide down to the bottom after removing a couple of screws. Chris

    Donations

Might also see of the St. Mary's College sailing program is interested. Lots of boats get donated to them- mostly race boats, but they might still be interested.

    Dry Ice

isn't CO2 heavier than air? which would make it sit at the bottom of the icebox (given that there isn't a circulating fan in it...)? I remember it being used in the cockpit of the 727's I used to jumpseat in... But, obviously not worth any injury.
