    1973 Ericson 27 For Sale - SOLD

Ericson 27 gone This E27 is no longer available. I have donated it to the local yacht club's Junior Sailing program. I like knowing that this Ericson will be making lots of kids happy and helping to bring up the next generation of sailors! Thanks to all who have given me advice over the years...

    1973 Ericson 27 For Sale - SOLD

Whoever installed the wheel left the tiller parts installed in the boat, they just took the tiller handle off. So right in front of the wheel pedestal there is the tiller head. I figured they wanted a back up in case anything broke on the wheel steering. I'm not interested in selling them...

    1973 Ericson 27 For Sale - SOLD

Must part ways with my 1973 Ericson 27 I have a 1973 Ericson27, hull# ERY27359M73, that I have been sailing and restoring for the last few years. It’s a great boat but the Great Salt Lake is disappearing underneath it due to our drought! Because of health issues, I’ve been thinking of...

EY.o Fund Raising 2012-2013: Thank You!

As I have struggled to restore a grossly neglected E27 I have turned to this site many times. I check it daily for tips and for just knowing that there are others who know what I'm going through! Thanks! Mike

Cabin lights,Front Hatch, and Leaking Hand Rails

Cabin lights not working Here's what I found on my E27. I removed the wood panels that run along the cabin just above the settees. I found that the old wire connectors were rusted out. I replaced them with new ones and made sure the Y connectors on the ground wires were replaced and sealed with...

After three years, she sails again!

After three years of re-wiring, re-plumbing, re-rigging, new fuel system, etc, my '73 E27 is sailing again! Today was my maiden voyage on the Great Salt Lake. Thanks to all of those on this forum who have helped me along in the process. Now on to the new hatches, new rails, new instruments...

    need advice on transducer mounting

That's the problem, I don't have a flat spot to glue it to. Without some kind of cofferdam or container, the adhesive would just run out! Mike

    need advice on transducer mounting

I just bought a Humminbird 365i fishfinder to replace the non-working '70s era depth sounder in my '73 E27. The Humminbird came with a transom mount transducer that can be mounted to shoot thru the hull. I'm looking for opinions on the best way to do that. The pdf file that I have attached shows...

    Mixing types of coax

Thanks everyone! I hadn't heard of RG8 until today, so I know where to get it. Can they make more varities of coax? Shees!

    Mixing types of coax

Steve, I'll double check the RG8. I thought it was 75 ohm, but it looks like I'm wrong!

    Mixing types of coax

My Radio Shack only carries pre-terminated, pre-packaged RG6 for home video. I remember the day when they were the place to go for electronics parts. Now it's just consumer grade crap and cell phones.

    Mixing types of coax

I bought a new vhf antenna from Shakespeare and have installed it on the mast and run the coax to the base. Now I need to run the coax through the cabin. Shakespeare sold the antenna with about 60 ft of RG58c/u coax, but I miss measured how much slack to leave inside the mast and I'm a few feet...

Mine are almost the same as Don's. 31 in., with an overall length of 35 with the tip. Mike

    E27 Spreader length?

That actually sounds right. I don't think mine are over 35", but I'll check. Mike

    E27 Spreader length?

E27 spreaders I have the mast down right now on my 73 E27. I can measure the spreaders but I'm out of town right now. I'll be home tomorrow night. The spreaders are in my garage. Mike
