So I finally launched and got the arch assembled the rig went up and oh my god the back stay missed it. I planned on it but you know that guy Murphy. Its putting out about 8 amps of DC and I'm happy as hell.
It was a long winter I made all the parts bus bars panel fronts and the plastic over the AC also the furniture that every thing mounted into. It was a fun project I already had the tools so it only cost me for the raw materials and a little bit of powder coating. I almost didn't get it powder...
I re did everything. I have a engine starting battery and a house bank. The engine disconnect is on the left the house is on the right. the battery's are connected to the switches and no other leads on the battery's to jump the mains except a volt meter that has fused leads to check battery's...
I grounded my mast shrouds and rudder stock to a 12X12 copper plate on my hull I also grounded the life lines and pulpits. I then grounded all the thru hulls to the plate as well. I hate lighting now! I am in fresh water so the plate should be twice as big but I have plans of going south.
The bases are mounted the side structure are mounted I bent the top tubes and have them mounted temporally I have to weld crossmembers on the top tubes then bolt some cross members to hold the panels. Its coming along.
I'm on Lake Michigan and its always light in the summer, the boat does well in light air. I will say it has a lot to do with the bottom and how good your sail are. clean bottom and fresh sails you won't be disappointed.
