Get a small dehumidifier and place it on the galley counter. Drop the drain hose in the sink. No dampness, no mold, no smell, water drains through the sink...
White smoke or steam?
We noticed the same thing with our E32-3 many years ago. It turned out to be the steam created by the hot exhaust water being dumped into the cold water during the winter months. The temperature differential was 120 degrees. It never happened during the warmer months when...
Repaired my 1987 Ericson32-3 fuel tank at a radiator shop.
They cleaned the tank and welded a repair for $160 three years ago. The original manufacturer of Ericson fuel tanks is Berry Sheet Metal in southern California. They were still in business three years ago. I was quoted $500 for a new...
Had a similar problem with my E32-3 a few years ago. Pulled the tank and took it to a radiator shop. They cleaned it and welded the pin hole corner for $180 bucks. The original manufacturer of Ericson fuel tanks is still in business in Southern California. Its been 5 years or so...Don't...
Original Manufacturer Of Tank
This may help. The original manufacturer for the Ericson 32 I owned was Vic Berry Sheet Metal. Their address a few years ago was 760 Newton Way, Costa Mesa, Ca. 92627. Tel. (949) 548-3613.
We have owned our boat for over 18 years now. We are both in our mid-sixties and retired. We have enjoyed the boat a great deal and have sailed her regularly and raced her quite a bit as well. It wasn't an easy decision. We delayed our decision for a year just to make sure this is what we...
One More Difference
The 32-200, late '80's 34, and 38-200 all have much lower backrests in the cockpit. I have a '87 32-3. The cockpit seating is much more comfortable.
Bow Pulpit
Pull the bow pulpit and inspect the wire where it passes through the deck. Mine was almost rotted through. I slit a small hole in the liner in the V berth and replaced the wire all the way to the light. Problem solved. If you slit the liner and access the wire there, you can also...
Groco head
I t/w the manufacturer at Groco. The part I replaced is H-27-a. A joker valve. He said the only part which restricts fluid from returning to the bowl is this part. My outside water thru-hull is closed. The urine is pumped directly to the holding tank. The back pressure from the...
Does this rubber invention actually work? I've replaced ours and the water still won't stay down. There is no back pressure on the pump and 80% of the time, the urine backs up into the bowl. I've asked some other boat owners and they have the same problem. I think this rubber gadget would do...
Project Complete
I installed the tank and everything is fine. I also replaced one fuel hose from the pick-up tube to the new racor filter. Also replaced the secondary filter on the engine and changed the oil and filter. Hopefully that is it for a while.
Progress Report..
As per previous posts. Berry Sheet Metal manufactured the tank. The date on it says 8/86. I called them in California and was advised they had two prints. One dated 1984 and one dated 1988. I'm assuming the latter was for the 32-200 series (21 gal). They quoted $350.00...
