Restoring an E35-2 - looking for upgrade suggestions

A good supply of beer helps with decision making! I have a '72 35-2 and I've kept it basically stock. Upgraded most lights to LEDs, added GPS, more battery capacity, extra insulation around icebox (drilled small holes from inside and shot in expanding foam), and a refrigeration system for ice...

Advice needed on new acrylic hatch lens install

It's time to replace one hatch on Penquin (35-2). I'm a stickler for keeping my baby stock so I'll be using Acrylic. The original screw holes were counter sunk. Would not it be safer to use a carbide Forstner bit first, then drill for the screws? I would also consider a counter sink...

E-35 Captain gunned down in Honduras

Whenever I go south of the border I stow a .303. I've had one confiscated in ole Mexico. I got home and went right out and got another Enfield Shotgun is good going thru a front door, but nothing makes the point like a long gun slung over your shoulder as you wave at a couple of guys 100...

    LED bulbs

Kim I changed out all my bulbs six years ago with LEDs from Superbriteleds.com. There were not many choices back then. Because I read when away on the water I ended up leaving one fixture with the old fashion 12v bulb for reading. Just having this one light seemed like a reasonable...

    Icebox Improvement

Brian I dealt with that one a few years back. I ended up drilling small holes from the inside and used can after can of slow expanding foam (it's denser that the fast expanding). Probably used six or seven cans. It seems to have worked quite well. I have a cold plate in the box. I fill the...

    ethanol blues (?)

Steve- The quality of cheap gas is terrible. If you let fuel sit for a few months it will coagulate in the float bowl resulting in your engine always starving for fuel. You'll have this lump of material that reminds me of old maple syrup. I now add a bottle of Chevron Techron, fuel...

    Silicone Removal

I tried the search engine, but failed miserably. I recall reading about various methods for removing silicone caulk and tried some.:headb: I don't recall which method I used, but it worked like a dream. Anyone remember the thread on removing silicone?? John

Foot pump installation in galley help please

I would be careful because that location is tenuous at best. What about a deck mounted pump? I thought of installing a foot pump years ago, but felt that I'd be stubbing my toes constantly. Opted for a new electric model. John

Looks like a Mariner product to me, from the 70's. They were made in Santa Monica, California. Company is long gone. John
