1980 Ericson 30+ Cleveland, Ohio for sale

I found more pictures and updated the boat's description. This Ericson 30 1980 sailboat is a great boat for leisure sailors. A comfortable boat with plenty of room for many people! Easy to use roller furling system for the headsail. Storage lockers in the cockpit for extra dock lines, bumpers...

1980 Ericson 30+ Cleveland, Ohio for sale

Dave: I bought the boat in 2000 from the then second owner. He never said anything about a replaced diesel, so I have been assuming all along that the Yanmar was the original engine, but I have no basis other than the looks of the engine mountings and engine paint color. I know that it is the...

1980 Ericson 30+ Cleveland, Ohio for sale

Dave: The boat is completely seaworthy, the price is due to being 40+ years old. The interior finish is looking old, but otherwise she sails beautifully. I am waiting on some more pictures from my daughter. I put it up for sale last year at $13k, but no one even came out to look at it. I...

    Exterior Teak Renewal

Four years ago, took off the wood handrails because one of the yard guys cracked one of them by standing on it. Yes, a big yard guy! Went with Plasteak up the road from me in Copley, Ohio. Here is there website. https://www.plasteak.com/ Perfect replication of the handrails, even with the...

Where all the Great lakes Ericsons Are

Lake Erie Cleveland We have a 1980 30+ at Shoreby's Newport Harbor just east of downtown Cleveland. To you Ericson owners to the west, please start sending us your better weather. Urgh! Ken

    What's Wrong With My Oven

Oven? My commander insisted on oven removal because it is not her "cooking" time while on the boat. Microwave cookies are good, but only available at the dock! Ken

Replacement hatch lenses for 1984 Ericson 30+

30+ Hatch Replacement Couple years back we looked at replacing the glass in the hatches. We started looking closely at the hatch hinges and seals and decided to do a complete replacement. Not particularly hard. We did two hatches in one afternoon. Ken

Hot Water Tank Replacement '81 30+

Although long ago disconnected, our hot water tank is mounted above the fuel tank on a wood platform. That leaves my port side lazarette open. I am not sure if that was an original placement or not. I don't have a picture and the boat is buttoned up for the winter. Ken

    "Halon" system question

Same for 1980 30+. I thought the lifeline exits on either side of the boat were specifically for easier evacuation in the event of a fire. Ken

Winter cover -- The Canvas Store vs. North Shore Canvas

I shrink wrap on the north shore of Cleveland. It holds up against the snow, ice and wind very well if properly installed. Ken

    Moving our boat

With mast down, it is a good time to snake through new halyards and electrical wires, if updates are needed. Also a good time to replace through connections if any are in need of replacement. A neighbor of mine replaced his fuel tank while the boat was on the hard. Ken

    Ericson Hats

Hats Don: I would also like a couple of hats. Any chance we could order boat size embroidered on the back, say "30+"? Thanks, Ken :egrin:
