    Keeping in mind that Centrifugal Bilge Pumps were never designed to pump a bilge dry and only to help prevent your vessel from sinking in an emergency it is still frustrating not be able just turn a switch on and "dry out" the bilge.     The "hinge" is actually a pin. You remove both pins and completely remove the mast and lay it on deck or in my case across the bow and stern pulpit for trailering.
