Thank you so much all for the input. I've realized that I never followed up on this. It turned out that the foot pump one-way valve had failed, and so the pump was sucking air from it rather than the water tank. Unfortunately it couldn't be serviced easily and I simply pulled it out and capped...
I'm on the second year of ownership of my 1984 Erickson 30+ and it's time for new sails. I found a local dealer of rolly Tasker and they're helping me through it. Big savings.
I measured my 125% headsail by hand but I was hoping for someone to have the mainsail dimensions that I could really...
Nice this is exactly what I was hoping to find out. And I do think using a sort of medium price double braid that isn't quite as expensive as the $2 foot dyneema is perfect for me because I think that's overkill but polyester doesn't look quite strong enough at 5/16. Just had a climber up today...
So do you unsheet that part that goes through the sheaves to try to keep the diameter less so that it fits the existing sheaves or do you just run the whole thing and not worry about it?
I'm afraid I haven't made any progress on it and so I haven't drawn DXFs. I'm trying to prioritize projects and there are still a couple of others in front. That said, I think it would be pretty easy to draw DXFs with a tape measure and calipers, so if any of us does we should certainly share...
I wouldn't regret your lack of a forward tank too much, apparently it's equally bad for weight distribution according to my boats previous owner. He was a racer, though. Racers always seem to be trying to get weight out of the bow.
Ah you know what, I think I've got it.

Based on this document of the optional water pressure system, I can see that the teed off line which confused the heck out of me is almost certainly the manual foot pump in the galley. It...
Hi there, maybe somebody else who has a 30 plus and has messed with the water system can help me out.
My new-to-me boat's water system hasn't been activated in 5 years or so. I'm trying to get it working. I filled up the starboard tank (wow does that make the boat list a bit) and open the valve...
Yes, the draft is not in question. It's really the depth of the transducer from the water line that I don't know. Plumb line is an interesting idea! That would for sure settle the question.
This is helpful, I'll just go with that. You have a 30+ I take it @bigd14
I estimated 3 feet but I haven't got a clue and I didn't measure last haul out. I assume it's good to get this one right.
Existing transducer hole was reused, the more vertical one in the middle of the boat. The angled one that had the speed transducer I simply plugged since my new airmar 800...
Thank you so much @trickdhat. I didn't even know those socks existed, I ordered one. Thanks for the help, I'll try your pulling method. What a tricky business.
That's helpful. To clarify:
> attach a messenger line to the hold hose
How? How do you connect hoses to messenger lines? Tape? Cutting a hole and tieing? Wipping thread and needle?
> reduce the transition area
How? Tape?
My E30 Plus has a remotely mounted suction bilge pump, located under the quarter birth. It can pull from either the bilge or the shower sump based on a selector. I believe this slightly unusual setup was factory standard.
It stopped working, I replaced it, and the placement isn't working very...
Oh SHUCKS, I booked and went to add it to my calendar and my friends are getting married on the mainland on the 15th. Too bad, I live in Friday Harbor so it's right there. Double darn. Maybe I can come by car, shake hands, and see boats on the 14th or 15th on my way to the mainland.
