I have just posted my boat for sale.....and it is a sad day Masallah a 1971 E 35 II, currently lying Newport, Oregon New Yanmar deisel (less than 50 hrs.) new Windvane, new bottom totally fitted out for long distance cruising / racing. Large sail inventory....all the "stuff" that goes...

Enjoyed reading about Nicki's purchase and planned sail of his E-35II..... Nicki, and to all other's owning an E35II.....take a look at your boat's exhaust system. I've just purchased and installed a new Yanmar engine due to sea water entering my engine block through the exhaust system...

been there.... I sailed in the '04 HaHa....this beach is in Bahi Tortuga, and it's a very difficult landing. The waves seem to come out of nowhere. Our capsizing wasn't quite as dramatic, but it's almost a requisit that every first timer swamp their boat. The guys who seem to make it best...

Gord: thanks....how did the windvane perform downwind with some following sea? Also, did it do well in lighter winds? alan

Nate: thanks....yes, the autopilot is simply underpowered. The only means of "upgrading" the autopilot is to totally replace it. My thoughts are along yours in that I'd keep what I have and buy an windvane system. thanks for your response. alan

Question to all....I'm considering whether to buy a windvane automatic steering aparatus, or upgrade my current Autohelm Autopilot.....it appears both will cost about the same...... I sail an E35II, and singlehand most of the time. I sail off the Oregon coast, and will likely sail up and down...

I'm curious as to where folks carry their life rafts. I have a 4 person AVON (non-cannistered) that I carry below decks where my dining table usually sits. Nice that it's low, and centered, but it's a bit heavy to lift into the cockpit, and I'd sure like to have my table back. I'm considering...

Sean: I was wondering where we can find the actual pictures this website shows of the boats each time you come on to the website. The photos are excellent examples of the various Ericson boats, sailing, docked, etc. Interestingly from looking at the photos I've seen some sail configurations...

Jim: Sounds like fun.....Is an SSB radio a race requirement? I've considered installing one myself in order to take part in certain races and the BaHa Ha ha....2007....the feedback I'm getting recently has been to not install an SSB, and to go only with a satellite phone. Both would be nice...
