    Fuel Gauge Whoas

Perhaps I have just accepted the oddly shaped tank will never give an accurate reading. Have pulled the sensor and checked ohm readings and all ok. Ran a variable voltage to the gauge and it is calibrated perfect. However it just never reads accurate So decided to go old school for and accurate...

E35-3 Search for Starboard Water Tank

We empty the tanks and dry them out. We found a collapsible silicone funnel that fits in the tank discharge and insert a piece of 3/8“ poly tubing into the funnel creating a seal. Poly tube into the gallon of antifreeze and pump it through the system. run the tube dry and remove. Very small mess...

E35-3 Search for Starboard Water Tank

Stainless tank. Pic from the 1st year we had it and were winterizing in the worst way possible. Have refined the procedure to avoid antifreeze in the tanks. The large hose goes to the deck fill. The smaller hose to the right of it is the vent line. It runs through the vberth cabinets and back...

35-3 Bow Pulpit removal- winter project

Thanks for the armchair advise Loren :) Your thoughts about the angled tubes and pushing forward while lifting was what I was thinking. I know they aren’t all at the same angle, just hope there is enough flex to remove and reinstall them. The v-berth access door gives “some” access under the...

35-3 Bow Pulpit removal- winter project

I need to pull the bow pulpit off this winter to replace the nav light wires. They are dry rotted and tried pulling in new ones but they are stuck in the tubing. Had butt spliced and extended a wire as a temp repair but the other broke and can’t retrieve it. Had to use the back up battery...

    How many Ericson 35-3s built?

Welcome from hull 217 Makes me wonder how many 35-3 are still on the water. Had a Tartan 10 hull 356 way back when and the T10 association had a list of all of the boats and where they were. Granted it is a great one design racing group that want to keep the fleet going. Kind of miss it. Was...

    E35/3 handrail screws?

Removed the handrails to refinish them this year. Mine were mounted with #14x 1-1/2” SS Phillips flat head screws. There were no through bolts. The pads are solid under the gel coat. Not sure of construction but had a cracked one that had gotten water inside and froze.

E35/3 Chart plotters at the helm?

Have a nav pod with a Ray 70 multi display, Ray Axiom7 and Ray autohelm on the binacle. Our Ray E7 chart plotters failed and went with the Axioms as it was the easiest to install in the existing pod. It was also the easiest to connect to the existing electronics and sensors. When the E7...

Looking for suggestions about port side dorade box not draining properly

If you go down this road please post about it as I would like one that screw on the front dorade box. Been trying to make an adapter to fit a solar vent and keep getting frustrated.

Looking for suggestions about port side dorade box not draining properly

I replaced the deck plates as they were dull and worn, the cap fit fine on the existing stock deck plates and the cowls screw in fine to the new deck plates. Got lucky. The waste pump out deck fitting was another story as no caps fit the stock fitting so had to install a new deck fitting to...

Looking for suggestions about port side dorade box not draining properly

Just posted this on another thread. We needed all 3 as the previous owner never used them so got rid of them??? Never throw away boat parts! Also the cowl on the port vent couldn’t be removed without pulling the stantion off, it’s too tall to rotate between the angle support. Was going to...

    Ericson 32-3 Fwd Dorade/Cowl size?

3” on the cowel vents. I had the scoops but no plugs. Installed these and was able to close them to keep rain out of the damn cowel boxes

    Optimal Headsail Percentage

Our boat came with 3 sails. A bagged out main, an offshore 2yr old 150 rolling genoa and a 1992 hot pink and light blue asym with a sock. Replaced the main, deal with Miami Vice spin but loathe the 150. Too much line in the Furler drum, back winds the main and is tons of fun to roll up or...

    Boom Refurbish

In the past I’ve replaced the horizontal bolt and added shims on the boom end of the gooseneck fitting which took care of a lot of twisting movement of the boom. I will be modifying a new vertical pin where it attaches to the mast and have fabricated some brass spacers to fill the gap between...

    Dorade vent on E26

Have 2 on my boat. 1 supplies air to the engine area and the other hooked to a blower to suck out heat or fumes. We had a bad smell in the cock pit locker and ended up finding a dead bird inside the blower exhaust hose. It got in through the the scoop. I keep the vent scoops off and the plates...
