Repair parts available
I smashed the dome on my Danforth Constellallation a couple of years back.
I found the parts on-line at http://www.vikingcompass.com/daco.html and the repair was not difficult.
I bought the fluid locally and refilled it at home, works like a charm.
Hi there fellow Ericsonians,,,,
I don't suppose anyone has had their 30 rated under ORR or ORR-EZ?
I am hoping to do the Bayview-Mack this summer and have only ever had a PHRF rating, so I'm curious what the rating is
Off to the fabricator
For the purposes of the archive, in case someone in the future is searching for this...
We are taking the broken plate off the back of the engine (only one more bolt to go, ran out of time yesterday) and taking it to a steel fabricator who will produce a drawing and then...
So the rear engine bracket on Dragonfly has broken. The part is no longer available, it's called a Foundation Plate, part number is 104514-08120.
Fits on a YSM or YSE 12 (the one from the 8 is too small).
Anybody out there have a dead YSM 12 and would like to sell me the plate?
Know of a...
Dragonfly comes through again!
This past weekend Dragonfly took second in her division at the 27th Lake Ontario 300.
We were on the Scotch Bonnet course which is just over 300 Kilometers (about 180 miles for those who are metrically-challenged).
Just over 2 days and 6 hours on course with the...
I've been looking for a replacement lower bushing for four years, I've been making do with shaft seal packing pushed into the void with a stout jeweller's screwdriver. Not elegant but it works (for a while)
Dragonfly, our 1978 Ericson 30-2, took first in her division and and in the white-sail fleet at the 78-mile Susan Hood Race out of Port Credit Yacht Club on Lake Ontario.
We had a great crew and varied, challenging conditions. The first 19 miles took us 12 hours..... Once the wind filled in on...
Saw this on Craigslist. I have no connection or knowledge of the boat, just posting it for the benefit of fellow Ericson fans.
Folks from south of the border might want to do a conversion.... this could be quite a steal...
This popped up on Kijiji today.
I have no involvement or knowledge of the boat, just thought it might be of interest:

A month on Lake erie
So we decided to flee the chaos that was the Pan Am Games in Toronto this past July and spent the month exploring Erie from Port Colborne to Pelee Island.
Amazing!
There is an account and pics in our club's magazine...
In 2013 we installed a Garhauer lifting davit for our old Merc 9.8
It worked great for the 4-month, 2200 mile Down East Circle. It was easily removed and stowed when not wanted. Probably saved my back.
Last winter we got rid of the old Merc (wife and daughter could never start the thing) and...
I've been following this with interest.
My boat has developed a much smaller crack in the same area.
We have had two hard groundings in the past 2 seasons. We did seem to take on water during a particularly hard 24 hour run to weather last year, couldn't figure out where it was coming from...
