- essentially a 32-200, I think
- gave a nice shout-out to Christian for his first solo voyage to HI.
- he was very complementary of the design - as we all can attest also

I hadn't realized before how far forward on the boom the mainsheet has to be on the 32-200 design because the companionway hatch is so far forward.

I’m not too crazy about Dinty More stew though!!
On one overnight delivery trip... we enjoyed (!) that fine chow, heated. About 1 am, rolling down the WA coast, with the ambient temp about 48 degrees and very damp and chilly.
I suspect that circumstances alter the flavor of the repast.
:)

A loyal crewman shows off the brightness the product brings to an otherwise drab world.

And although pot is now legal here, no pot is needed--you can eat right out of the can.

I make a “mean” beef stew at home (with one of the ingredients being dry sherry) but I always have one and often two cans of DM aboard for “emergencies“. Yes, you can eat it out of the can but why would you want to? Best heated up to get that full preservative taste. And let’s not forget the other favorite canned meat to have aboard that my 1st mate calls it, “boat bacon”.

non-refrigerated eggs, spam, Dinty Moore stew, wild rice, and a can or two of copped tomatoes with garlic, and flat bread. Oh and an apple with peanut butter for nutrition.

The atmosphere and adventure always makes food taste better. The average hotdog

God, he got the history of Ericson wrong. Ericson was not started by the Kohlmans. They weren't even on the scene until the 80's.

I have watched some of his video's and consider him to be more of an entertainer and a raconteur ....... :(

That said, I would imagine that few of his followers are at all concerned about "the details".
(sigh)

I would have to agree. Still, if you are holding yourself out as some kind of authority figure, then ya ought to get your facts straight. That includes the journalists at Practical Sailor magazine who published the bad info to begin with. A good example of don't believe everything you read on the internet or in magazines for that matter.

As a former PR guy, I was always pretty excited if the reporter got more than 60% right.
