Harken Mark 1 Feeder

One of the "C pins" that holds the clamshell feeder on my furling system has broken off and I don't have the knowledge or equipment to extract the broken section to replace. The feeder measures approximately 4 9/16" in length and has 2 screws. Both of the feeder pieces have "3P" cast into them. Anyone know if a replacement feeder can be obtained?

We just got a new furler and the old one is still laying at the marina. Our boats are the same model and year so it should be the same unit. If you're interested in a used part, I'll check it tomorrow and see if I can get the feeder off w/o breaking anything. Any tips for removal?

Two screws and it’s off. Could use the screws as spares. Photo of mine attached.
Thanks!

Ours is a Harken Unit 1 so it should be the same. It's always good to have at least one spare screw to drop in the water or bilge. I'll see what I can do tomorrow.

Hi @unidiver
This is what I've got. I can't see where it has 3P on it. It's closer to 4.625". But if you think it will work, you can have it. Send me a private message with your address and I'll send it out your way. Both the long and short screws are with it.
Cheers, Jeff

BTW. Raced from Oceanside to San Diego on Sunday (35 miles). Started at 10, built to mid 12's pretty much all day, topped at 16.25 kts (fortunately just for a short while). ~40-50 AWA. Perfect day for a 35Mk3. I learned something new. Need to switch to outside track even as little as 40 AWA. Boat sped up.

Thanks!

Also, please put in envelope and send USPS snail mail. We're not racing for a few weeks. And, let me know where to send check for shipping and handling!

I'll send it out in the next day or two Jim.
Interesting about the jib trim. What were you running for a jib? Dacron? Carbon? What size?

155 carbon. Inside track as close as she'll go (35AWA, maybe a little less). Outside track 40+ from now on. Only took me 10 years to figure that out!

Really interesting. We'll have to experiment with that this coming year (our first). We'll be using our dumpy old (original?) dacron for the year. Next year, hopefully, new sails. Still discussing with the Chancellor of the Exchequer about how fancy we can get.
The package went in the mail today, Jim. Look for it Wednesday-ish. -Jeff

I only use the 155 for racing. And, it's too much sail when wind exceeds 15kts. Makes the boat go fast. Competitors hate it!

Bought a furlable tri-radial dacron 135 which we use to horse around and down-shift to. Had luff foam added for better shape when furled. Wouldn't recommend luff foam unless it's your only sail and wind pipes to 20+.
