I dont think Ericson ever put bow eye on any 27 footers. Any advice on location of bow eye would be greatly appreciated. My first thought was dead center between boot stripe and deck to hull joint.

I'd say that depends on the height of whatever will be pulling on the eye. You'd want a mostly horizontal pull, but maybe some upward lift would help if you're trying to get the bow over rollers, etc.
