25 centerboard

New Member
Hi,
Can anyone tell me about the 25 centerboard boat. I have retired and I am looking for a boat I can trailer in that size range. How does the boat sail? Any problems with the 25? I will be taking it to Sea of Cortez and Florida Keys, any help would be appreciated.

E25 centerboard

The E25 centerboard is an excellent boat that sails well and trailers well.
It is stiff and seaworthy for it's size. It is well built
The boat and trailer and all weigh about 8000 lb and require a good tow rig. I pull mine with a 1 ton chevy dually with a 6 cylinder engine and it tows very well.
The centerboard adds much to the joy of sailing this boat. Hitting bottom or going aground on the tide at anchor is no big deal and we anchor on the uncrowded edges of the anchorages.
Check the centerboard. They were built with a steel core and ours swelled up from rust and would not lower. The centerboard pivot is a stainless steel rod that can suffer from crevise corrosion. It is easily removed and replaced.
All in all, a great boat.
