Hell yeah, kids, I made it!
Two days, fifteen hours (motoring) on water, and Little Lisa is home in Portland.

My kids threw balsa airplanes off the top of the Astoria column last summer on a trip visiting family.

I bet it was a pretty (if slow) trip up the river.

It took me a while to figure out that it's just as fast to dock somewhere and go explore the bayous on the SUP when the tide is unfavorable...

I have, when lucky, caught the incoming tide surge at Cathlamet and rode it all the way to Portland. Of course I was on the water that day from 8 am to about midnight. (sigh)

I’m glad we pushed on to Kalama. We were more tired than we realized, and I definitely did not want to be on the water at night!
