Battery switch knob??

jmcelwee

Hi all,

Does anyone know where to pick up a replacement battery switch knob (the red one, that switches between 1, 2, both, and off) for the electric panel (in this case, for a 1984 E28)? I just took over a new boat, and this knob vanished somewhere in the past, and I don't want to be stuck switching via a pair of vise-grips for the next few years.

Thanks for any help!!!

Josh,

I believe I found the shaft on mine to be 1/4". The marine stores had nothing, but a really well equiped hardware store had some to choose from. It's worked fine ..
and under $5-

Replacement knob.

Josh, Good old McMaster-Carr appears to have what might well work for you. Check out their selection of knobs designed to fit a 1/4" shaft here: http://www.mcmaster.com/#knobs/=af1jyj Sure can't beat the price and it's always been my experience that what I order appears on my front door the next day. Frankly, I don't know how they do it. Good luck, Glyn Judson, E31 hull #55, Marina del Rey, CA
