Check valve recommendations

As we all know, the e-27 has a deep sump in trailing edge of her keel. Im in the process of changing out bilge pump hoses. Mine were old, brittle and smooth inside with vinal coil reinforcement and corrugated exterior and some were of spa flex type glued to sch40 pvc fittings. Not seaworthy at all! I have upgraded to 491 type of hose. I have a largish pump with 1 1/8" hose im raising up from bottom of sump and installing a small pump on floor of sump with 3/4" hose My problem is i need check valves to prevent short cycling of bilge pumps because of longish runs of hose draining back into skinny narrow deep bilge. I need a real good leak free check valves. I am aware of no check valves in bilge pump recommendations. Any recommendations to avoid check valves would be greatly appreciated. Who makes the best check valves? I also considered vented loops installed high on the inside of sink cupboard to prevent siphon effect of long run to transom but drain back from vented loop still fills sump to near the point of activating pump. What have others done to address this problem? Thanks so much. This group is the best ever!

What sort of pump is it? Submersible, perhaps? Is losing prime an issue?

Because my bilge is never dry for long, I tolerate the inevitable water left behind by hose run-back.

Can you ID the present pump (s)?
There is a world of difference between the inexpensive centrifugal pumps like the ubiquitous "Rule" and the multi chamber pumps like the Jabsco 37202-2012 (more $). The Jabsco type is a positive displacement pump and does not allow water to run back from the output side of the pump. That said, some water will run back from the pump inlet back down to the strum box in the bilge.
Our boat has two of the Jabsco pumps, and there is always about a half inch of water in the bilge, which is regularly removed with the special Ericson Turkey Baster apparatus (Patent Pending...). :)

Any check valve will eventually allow back flow of any water standing on it. A vented loop is a positive way of keeping water from flooding back. But the next consideration is the volume of that back flow. Consider using a smaller diameter hose between the pump and the vented loop to reduce the back flow volume. After the loop, a larger hose will encourage fast draining. The shorter the run from pump to loop, the less resistance in that smaller hose.

I have the rule above the attwood acting as a backup. Attwood sits on floor of sump doing all the work. Both have hose that matches output nipple and both need check valves. When money is not so tight i will replace Attwood with a diaphragm type mounted out of sump in a dry location. Maybe next year upgrade to diagram of decent quality with inline strainer. Thanks for all the replies!
