Difference in Light Air Sails

I am planning to purchase a light air sail this winter. More I research in the new different designs and types, more I am confused on what exactly want.
The goal would be able to sail in the summer months where the wind on the Chesapeake Bay are very light. Also always trying to achieve VMG and add to my sail inventory.

Asymmetric Spinnaker
I had a A2 on my previous sailboat and hardly use it. It appeared to be limited on the angle of wind.
My local sailmaker is pushing this sail - specifically a all purpose A2
I would be able to race with the sail

Cruising Code 0
This is my first initial seletion, Cruising Code 0 designed for free flying and option to fit on my furling extrusion
Sailmaker was aginst this.

Code 0
Cannont be free flying and most likely need a bottom up furling
Additional gear will add costs

Drifter
Design to be free flying and option to fit on my furling extrusion or hanked on a secondary forestay of Dyn
I would not be able use the sail for any long distance racing, which is what I am also planning to use the light air sail for

Procurement
Purchase used or new from a sailmaker
A sails are available use but a specially made Cruising Code 0 will need to be made by a sailmaker

Any thoughts and experience with the above?
