E-25 Interior Refinishing

This spring I brought all the wood (except bulkheads) home for refinishing. Instead of stripping off the old finish and that marvelous aged look, I wet sanded the wood with steel wool and paint thinner. The amount of dirt and grime that came off was amazing. The wood was then refinished with gloss admiral varnish (west marine), the result is spectacular! The grain really stands out and the pattern seems to change with the viewing angle. All in all a worthwhile face lift for a 34 year old lady.

Wow!

Those pieces look like they are glowing with pride!
Thanks so much for the photo.

On a (much!) smaller scale, I varnished the inside of our aft hanging locker yesterday with a second and final coat. I used "Skipper" gloss varnish.
Every year we sand and clean up another part of our boat's interior and varnish some more... another decade should see the project done...
(just kidding). :)

Keep up the good work.
And, thanks again for sharing.
