Hello new the forum, happy to have found ya'll.

I have owned a 1969 E41 for the past 3 years. Only now am I trying to determine if our boat has the infamous rudder design [PDF].

I'm trying to determine that by hull number, but I don't know where to find it on my boat. Anyone know where to look?

Thanks in advance!

That's a tough one. I don't believe that hull ID numbers were required on the transoms at the time your craft was manufactured. Do some research to see if any previous owners registered the boat with the authorities. My boat has a documented number mounted on the inside of the transom. It's very evident. and easy to spot.

I believe that, 1969, you can know the hull number and the manufacturer, but that's about it, since there was no HIN system in effect.
Do you have a state-issued title now? Or is the vessel documented thru the USCG?
