E25 Traveler Replacement

The original traveler is not easy to adjust, so I usually end up leaving it centered. Does anyone have any suggestions for a replacement system for this boat?

Also, have other E-25 owners added a boom vang? If so, did you find it to make a significant difference in achieving better sail trim?
