Beware what year the boats were built in, Progressive Insurance no longer Insures boat built before 1981 in California. I personally believe it's part of the plan to rid marinas of older boats and live aboads.

Bepi,

I was able to insure this 1977 boat with Progressive, very lucky indeed.

Today I have returned to Oswego NY to begin a journey through the Oswego and Erie Canals to the Hudson river, New York Harbor, Long island (Atlantic side), Block Island and Rhode Island. I thought i had a long journey, however, I will be buddy boating with a father and son from Canada that will continue on through the Cape Code canal, spend a night in Province Harbor, then continue north to Nova Scotia.

Their company has added another level of excitement to this journey.

They advertise a special insurance for older boats but apparently that's only available on the East Coast.. enjoy your adventure!!! There are so many more interesting places to sail in the East than the West.

It is early morning and the rain is finally announcing the end of the heat dome the North East has been under this past week.

Sitting with the first cup of coffee this morning I have a chance to reflect on this journey.

8 locks of the Oswego, 31 locks of the Erie canal and 1 lock on the Hudson and nothing

This morning in Catskill Creek New York, Sterling will be remaster as a proud 1977 Ericson C.

The journey continues, 3 days down the Hudson River with one layover to install an ACU unit for the autopilot in Haverstraw New York.

My coffee is getting cold so I will sign off

Hello !
Mark , it looks like we couldn't time this better if we try. My hullout is been paid in full and should be getting in blocks in the upcoming days at Haverstraw ,New York.
I have 2 weeks to do the job.We have good amount of tools on my boat , more than I should. But I also have a lot of projects so they are needed.
As the projects get done some will be left behind and the most important will survive the purge.
Stay hydrated my friend and looking forward to meeting you in person and share anecdotes.

I don't want to lessen your enjoyment, but since you're headed my way, I can assure you the heat dome has not ended down here. Hazy, hot, humid and stormy forecast into next week. So don't break out the sweatshirts just yet. :) Enjoy the rest of your venture.
