Ericson 33 wine frig

For 7 years my wife has been asking me to rip out the old crap brown Galley Maid stove and oven. We never used it, I measured the space and picked up a wine frig to put in its place. It runs on AC power and has a condenser in the rear with a freeze plate in the back wall. I ordered a 2” teak block off of Amazon and installed it the weekend before the 4th.

For 3 weeks it has been on and running a cool 38. It would be nice to get it right at 33-34 but the beer is cold enough. We sailed off power for 4 hours and everything inside stayed cold enough.

Have to say that I should have done this a long time ago.

We could not cruise w/o our range (with oven). Wine is great to have, but now how are you heating food when out on the hook? BBQ on the stern rail for everything?
:)

We are on a inland lake, Camping on the boat for us right now is at the dock with the AC on due to it being 100 out during the days and cooler at night. I do have a propane grill that attaches to the stern rail, but the Marina has a very nice restaurant on the dock and we will bring up supplies for the weekend to make sandwiches and snacks during the daysail. The old Galley Maid was alcohol and I dont think it was ever used, not in my 10 years! If we were coastal it would be a completely different configuration. I have also seen the drop in ranges that will run on LPG and this may be an option to install into the wood block with shielding? We are also looking at a countertop toaster oven that does have two warmer burners ontop... But its not gimbled so it would be only when at dock or anchored out?
