Ericson 34 Halyard question.

I have owned my 1989 Ericson 34 for about a year. It only has two halyards rigged - main and jib. There are two other halyard thin 'messenger type' lines in the mast with a small ball on the end of each as they exit the mast. I haven't been up the mast yet to check out the pulleys on the top. Does anybody know if these are a spinnaker and spare jib? If so,what is the process you go thru to rig the new halyards?

Those halyards can be used for any kind of headsail (jib, spinnaker, or [heaven help us] a blooper)...

whip a messenger loop on the non-shackle end of the halyard and tie the messenger line to it, then pull it through. Make sure to put one back in if you ever remove the halyard.
