E 25+ 1980
The boat is solid, bilge ALWAYS dry, but has two key points to be addressed. 1) The standing rigging is due for replacement. 2) A bit of light carpentry and varnish here and there, but nothing urgent. The original inboard engine / saildrive were removed. Power is currently provided by a rebuilt 1980 Suzuki DT4 4hp outboard (included in sale). Slip transferrable Anchorage 47 Marina del Rey. 1980 Ericson 25+ - Solid Classic Cruiser with Roomy Cabin, Galley & Enclosed Head... Bruce King designed this vessel for maximum interior volume in a nearly 26-foot package plus sailing performance. This boat is has strong bones but needs a rigging refresh. Very good opportunity for owner ready for a minor project. Engine included, some new parts, incl. a custom hand-crafted tiller never used. Surveyed one year ago. - 6 feet of standing headroom in the main cabin, exceptional for a boat this size. Teak doors and cabinetry in good shape. - Sleeps 4-5 comfortably with a large quarter-berth and spacious settees. Fold-down Dining table. - Enclosed, stand-up head compartment. - 40 gallon fresh water tank. - All sinks functional. Plumbing updated for both fresh and wastewater. * Brand new "Whale" Bilge pump installed. - Wiring is updated. (brand new runing light fixtures) - Galley is surprisingly roomy for a 25' boat, including a recessed stove area and a well-insulated 5 cubic foot icebox, making weekend overnight trips and dinners aboard easy and practical. Ericson's are know for the solid hand layup fiberglass hull. The deck is balsa-cored, with plywood used in high-stress areas, giving it a notably solid feel underfoot. The bilge is NEVER wet as the keel and ballast is molded within the fiberglass. Performance: Designed as a cruiser-racer with a high-aspect 7/8 rig. She performs well, especially in light air, with excellent sail control provided by a full-width mainsheet traveler. Current Condition: The boat is solid, but has two key points the new owner should address. Standing Rigging: The standing rigging is due for service or replacement to bring the boat to its best condition for serious sailing. The mast is hinged and can be lowered for service or trailering. A bit of carpentry and varnish here and there, but nothing urgent. Auxiliary Power: The original inboard engine and saildrive were removed. Power is currently provided by a rebuilt Suzuki DT4 4hp outboard motor (included in sale). This conversion provides valuable additional storage space under the cockpit. I hate to let her go, but moving. This boat is a maximum boat for minimum length and an excellent coastal cruiser or club racer offering many years of fun, great value to come. Serious inquiries only please. Contact to arrange a viewing. Slip is $419 per month including water and power. Bathrooms, showers and laundry also included (newly renovated). Trader Joe's just steps away.
