Head Holding Tank Disposal

GrockSounder

First, let me apologize if my question is answered somewhere else. I did search the threads.

Anyway, what is the environmentally friendly and law compliant way of disposing of an old holding tank. I am probably overstating the obvious but it is plastic. And because I am going compostable, I will want to dispose of the hoses as well. I understand that different states' laws will come into play, so your jurisdiction may vary. I have searched the web and I am having a devil of a time answering this question, which absolutely somebody must know the answer to, having probably done this before. I even sent an email to the EPA but have not got any response.

Any practical advice on the job is also most welcome.

BTW, I live in Washington State. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Since the plastic is highly unlikely (!) to be recyclable, just put the whole mess into the dumpster.

If in decent shape, you could try cleaning it up and putting it on Craigslist, but I wouldn't hold my breath. Well actually, I would...

I'm using my old one as a fertigation tank in the greenhouse.
