Price for vinyl lettering

I was quoted $149.00 for lettering to go on the transom. Boat name only - Signature II.
Does this sound like a reasonable price?

More quotes to come but they're a bit slow.

"Voila"
When I use to do this I used this to calculate if my pricing was in line with the competition.

Just got my new ones, $12.US total of 34 letters.

4" BLACK, SAN JUAN DEL SUR, NICARAGUA
And 2 MA 5813 for bow.

Easy to install, just make sure hull is very clean.
Might Google instructions to apply.

Seems like Big mark up to me?

Mine was $104 in 2018 ($103 for previous in 2011) from DIYLettering.com. Premium vinyl, border and shadow with background cut out and removed. 10 inch NAME letters (16.5" x 69") includes hailing port (4" x 34"). They will save your design so you can re-order. My experience is that the graphic will last ~ 5 years on the E36RH reverse transom at my latitude with year round exposure. Your results will be different, probably much better. The installation was pretty straight-forward per the instructions from DIYLettering. See post #51 here:

BoatUS can provide customized vinyl lettering which I found to be very easy to apply according to their very clear instructions. I don't recall the price, but the web app will tell you that before you will commit. They even provided a spare copy of each one.

+1 for Boat US. I like your classy gold leaf, @peaman.

My notes on removing a painted boat name: http://sailboatrefit.com/removing-a-painted-boat-name/

and the quite easy process of applying new vinyl lettering:

Wow, that's a huge difference. Where did you buy them?

+1 for DIYlettering.com (now just lettering.com for the url)

$149 seems pretty outrageous to me, and I too though installation was easy enough.

For reference - post #49 in the "show me you transom decals" thread linked above was $32.60 for both the 6 inch lettering for name and 3.75" hailing port in premium vinyl.
A couple of the serifs have peeled due to ice forming on the reverse transom. Some 3M "edge sealer" seems to have taken care of that.

Just another place to check: boatdecals.biz. I found them quite a bit cheaper than Boat US and fast turnaround. Mine are relatively small and simple though, so hard to compare.

We're getting lettering ordered but I forgot to measure our transom last weekend and now I'm away from the boat. Does anyone have or know where I could find maximum name dimensions for an E38-200 if we want to fit on the port side of the transom like in the attached photo?

Not sure about maximums, but for reference the above are 6" high letters x 28" wide for "driftless"
3" high letters x 24.25" wide for hailing port.
Hope that helps at least a little.

I just used lettering.com to order the new 9 letter boat name, "S/V," and 16 letter home port. Gold with black edges and a gray shadow. Premium 7 year vinyl.

$78.99
