Looks and works great. Attaching files is a dream! I just resized a picture from my phone via MS Photo to 4MP after an error message that the file was too big. What are the parameters for file attachments?

There are limits, but they're much larger that what we were using. You can actually drag-n-drop pictures into entry window from your desktop - and then resize them in the post (try it!). This platform also has a low level image editor in it - so you can correct orientation, add text, etc to images when you're loading them in.

I'll look into the limits and see where that's stated for folks and then advise (add it to the list).

I was going to ask for an improved search feature, like putting quotes around several words to find only posts that have that set of search words. But, it’s already there!

In V4, searching for "bilge pump" would find all posts that contained either word. Now, in V5, search finds only posts with the word pair bilge pump in it. Marvelous! Outstanding! Thank you!

As a life-long computer nerd, I have a little bit of an idea of the amount of work you are putting into this. Plus, you contracted out extra difficult conversion work. This has been expensive both in terms of time and money. And, according to your profile, you haven’t owned an Ericson for more than 15 years!

Your contribution is quite amazing for keeping this invaluable resource alive. Please ask if there is anything we can do to help with bills or time. We don’t want you to bear a heavy load.

The time period for annual EY.o fund raising has not ended. Additional work (and expenditures) are happening now.
Note that $ contributions are still being accepted by Sean.

Time is a commodity we cannot grant him, but reimbursement of money, we can!
:)
Thank You.

Sean - if you would like to move media sharing to Albums and out of direct threads for pictures, perhaps a "recent media" section on the homepage would serve well. Whether it was thumbnails or its own feed, it would help direct more eyes and traffic to that part of the site.

The site is performing beautifully, love the drag and drop ability for pictures in posts.

Yeah, the vBulletin 'Albums' area was uncontrolled and there were no categories, etc. Right now my plan to add subcategories to the Owners Albums - by boat model type - and them sort them that way. Last night I pulled out the uncategorized posts in that module - there are more than 2000 of them.

My comment on that single thread in the Design & Function forum was because items like that belong in Media - not hidden away in a thread in that forum; however I see the value in the thread's images - and am intending on moving those images over to the Boats category (again, likely to have a sub-category added) and just tossing them in there so folks who want to look at only E35-3s can find them easily, etc.

Similar in Blogs - we have Authors, then topic areas, and then model boats as major category splits. That way, you'll be able to look at projects involving just O34s, for instance - or blogs just from Loren Beach -- or just blogs about Engines & Fuel Systems on O34s from all authors, or Engines and Fuel Systems only from Loren Beach, etc.

While the blogs are a bit smaller in quantity, they are richer, more in-depth content and the entire idea of this is to build a framework that people can easily navigate to find what it is they're looking for - and to do it now - before they grow to 2000 posts and become unmanageable.

Is it possible for albums to have a "cover" image? The current album image layout is sort of confusing - I wouldn't know at first blush that each "square" is an album unto itself. If we could make a static cover image, it'd be easy to identify and return to individual albums.

You're talking about in the Media module? Yes, we can look at that - but it's going to come after all this other stuff is done before it (aka, you're in a longish line at the moment). Right now I have to get the Front Page up and finish with security efforts for all the Chinese bots who have been bombarding the site...
