Suggestions for screen replacement?

has anyone replaced the screen material in these? My local hardware store was afraid they’d break it if they tried. 9CFA0FE6-6698-4CBD-896F-059C61FCD0A4.jpeg

Is that frame plastic or aluminum? Is the screen held in with a rubber gasket in a groove? If it's plastic I guess I can see why they would hesitate. The screen is not hard to replace, but to make the screen tight and smooth it takes some practice. I've given up on my aluminum framed screens because it is a frustrating piece of maintenance to do every year.

Aluminum frame and it looks like the ends are kind of stamped to a slug of metal. The hardware store suggested I drill the small holes and then pull it apart but I wanted to be sure someone hadn't had success with some other method before I dove in.

Can you post a picture of the other side, if it is different? I don't understand how the screen material is attached to the frame.
