Winter boating in Comox BC

Frank Langer

1984 Ericson 30+, Nanaimo, BC
Great video, though he's right that it's rare to see snow like this in Nanaimo, where we live--maybe once or twice each winter, with a few more very light dustings. Early spring flowers are visible in February and then it just gets nicer.
Nanaimo is a small city of just over 100,000 residents, busier in summer with tourists.
It's easy to go through Dodd Narrows which we do frequently to go south into the gulf islands (only an hour away) or we can sail north to Desolation Sound, or across the Strait of Georgia to Vancouver and the Sunshine Coast.
We sail year round, and I haven't seen fit to buy either a snow shovel or a broom. :)
Thanks for posting!
Frank

I just wandered onto this video, and the couple are visiting Frank's home port!
It is a larger city than I had naively assumed. I hope we get to visit it some summer.
I've been following them for a while. They overlapped with Salt and Tar in Napa CA for a short time. I liked when Juho borrowed some tools from Garrett and Ruth (Salt and Tar) and said he was impressed with how they built the wooden boat "from the scratch" ;-)

Wow! Watching that video just gave my Southern California brain some serious hypothermia!

Beautiful country, though.
