    engine exhaust to muffler failure (atomic 4)

    Heat guns work good for loosening hoses. A few years back I rebuilt my exhaust system with the help of a pipefitter friend with black iron pipe. I cruise fresh water so maybe not applicable in salt?

    E27 Veers to port underway

    This past summer we had a long run motor sailing in big following seas that overwhelmed the auto tiller. I hand steered for 9 hours which can get a little physical. A bungee connected to the tiller and the port side made the job a lot easier. You learn these little tricks as you go.

    When I tore out the old 5" Saturn compass I couldn't find a bulkhead style that size so I went with the 4.5" Ritchie and used some thick white plastic to tidy things up.

    About the only damage I can think of is if that water has a chance to freeze it could crack the fiberglass.
