What a nightmare!! …Our club specifically stated in the rules to use marine ply PLUS the stands must be chained together across and forward/aft.

    Bye bye Jackstands …Followup

Finally, correct upright supports were made, hot dip galvanized and installed. CaryOn was pulled this morning (10/09) and she fits like a glove on the trailer. Unfortunately, although balanced on the trailer, the tongue weight came in at about 1600 lbs. which is too much for a standard pickup...

    Bye bye Jack Stands!

Yes, we belong to a club with plenty of storage, travel lift and gin pole. At haul out and launch, we help each other out making it a breeze without the normal costly marina fees.

    Bye bye Jack Stands!

Thanks for your excellent tip! …So far, our plans are to simply store on boat club property. The heated storage is only about two miles away and the roads are not ever busy at all. My son stores his S2 - 7.9 plus a classic car and a storage trailer there already. Thoughts are to see about...

    Bye bye Jack Stands!

There is indoor heated storage within 2 miles of our boat club. With this trailer, my son could actually tow it over with just his F-150. (Not sure of the legal width restrictions though.) Normally we store her right on the club property since there’s plenty of land and a travel lift. We just...

    Bye bye Jack Stands!

Early this Spring my son found a really good deal on a used heavy duty trailer capable of handling our E32 - II. It’s galvanized and has 6 wheels for beyond the weight of our boat. (Ever since moving to Michigan we’ve used the cumbersome Jack Stands since I discarded my original cradle when...

    Last Sails of the Season

It seems the 2024 sailing season came in and left us the very same week! April turned into October in but the blink of an eye!!! Here’s a photo of CaryOn (‘73 vintage E-32 II) during the last race of our season on Lake Erie. (She again held her own and took a first overall.) We’re sporting a...

Replacing rubber seals on main (large) windows/ports [Master Thread]

Apologies for the response but I’ve been away from the site for a while now. (Life and other things like our first - finally - granddaughter do get in the way!) At any rate, there IS a company located close to Cleveland, Ohio that specializes in a multitude of rubber extrusions that has what...

Our New Next Generation Continues the Tradition!

We FINALLY became proud grandparents in 2022 with the arrival of our granddaughter “Lucy”! Her mom and dad wasted no time in getting her on the boat and creating great memories! Fast forward, …Lucy, now at age 2, LOVES being on the boat and has a greater interest in taking the helm than I...

Another E-32 II Bites the Dust…in Michigan

Having been a member of the EYO site for so many years, I was proud to learn a while back that I had become the longest original owner of any Ericson to date, let alone the E-32’s. (Bought mine new in Ft. Lauderdale, FL back in’73 from Sailboats South.) I overbought in size while looking for a...

    What is this?

I’m thinking possibly an Islander Yacht. They had ports very similar to the Ericson’s. (However, the cove stripe is not the traditional Islander design.) Could it be a European brand?? …Morgan ports were more traditionally rectangular in shape.

A nice write-up about Bruce King NA

I don’t see why not, there aren’t any complicated pieces with complex curves or shapes. …I can pattern/scale it out and post it if there’s any interest in it.
