Thank you! We have an Ericson 35. Doing a few test trips first. Hopefully setting off at the optimum time - watching the wind. Not sure on crew yet - aiming for 2 people minimum. Don't need to rush the trip so going to travel South from MDR to around 30N and then sail West. I'll watch Three...

Haha, well that's funny! Because that's exactly what I did too! I might have someone coming to asses in a couple of weeks. They've been extremely helpful and go out of their way to explain the process - providing photos of work done on other Ericson's as well. We are really tempted now!

Very interesting. Curious as to whether others agree and whether electric engines are as reliable. I can see there a lot of pros. At the moment I can't live on the boat as it is, the smell of gas is overpowering. I was always planning for solar, so maybe this ties in nicely! Thanks -P!

Thanks for all the knowledge here. Windsong is a 35-1 Ericson. She now doesn't start, so the issue is more pressing! But yes, available mechanics seem to be extinct. Guess it'll be sailing by the wind for now! Thanks Christian - will check out CC Marine.

It has an Atomic 4 for sure. Not sure about the V drive but can take a look. It's 1973.

Ahoy there. I am considering the same thing, having just purchased an Ericson 34 with a gas engine (with issues). Was there ever a resolution for you Phoenix? Does anyone happen to know a good engine mechanic in Marina Del Rey? (this is my first post. It's so great to join the community)...
