    Tiller or wheel

Thanks The boat was equipped with a tiller when it was new. Maybe the person that engineered the boat know how to make it work. I had no Ideal where to find one that would fit, and know I do. Thanks Richard Beware of sailboat curmudgeons they are to quick to criticize, and tend to turn...

    Tiller or wheel

The wheel is old and tired The boat is a E25+. I like it when things are as simple as possible, and after reading your comment I think it's time for the wheel to go. One more question how long should the tiller handle be? Thanks Richard

    Tiller or wheel

I have an E25 that had an Edson wheel installed. I'm thinking about taking it out and putting the tiller handle back in. It would simplify the boat and leave a lot more room in the cockpit. Would this help the boat perform and handle better? Thanks Richard

I just bought an Ericson 25+

Mine is in very good shape. I bought it in Juneau Alaska and took it down the inside passage to Ketchikan and home. What a test. Even had a few chances to pull up a sail, and I did. The little boat sails and handles very well. A previous owner took out the old gas engine and put in a 1GM10...

    Nordic DT stove

Dickinrson bulkhead mounted heater The nordic DT stove/heater is to complicated, and I had no good options for the exhaust vent placement. So, I went with the Dickinson Newport bulkhead mounted heater. It will mount right where the old force 10 propane heater is, and the vent can go though the...

    E 25+ main travler

The bolt pattern on the original track matches the 4" center to center on the Harken traveler track. No need to put more holes in the boat. Sounds like a winner to me. Thanks for you advice Richard

    E 25+ main travler

The travler for my E25 is missing. The track is still there and in good condition. Can I still get a traveler to fit the existing track. I will send pictures and dimensions of the track if someone will help. Or would I just be better off replacing the track. Richard

    Nordic DT stove

Propane There is no doubt propane can be a effective fuel. But, I'm in and around commercial fisherman all the time. They tell me it is wet heat. It causes condensation inside the boat. It's humid enough in Southeast Alaska without adding more water to the air though combustion. Most of them...

    Nordic DT stove

Simplicity Why have two different fuels on a boat. My little Yanmar GM10 burns diesel just fine, and is a very easy to maintain engine. I can easily get Diesel anywhere in Southeast Alaska. It's safer than propane, and having an open flame and propane in a small confined space is just asking...

    Nordic DT stove

Has anyone tried a Nordic DT stove. It's a combination stove and cabin heater. Seems easy enough to install, but it's a little expensive. My little 25+ still has it's original propane stove and heater, and they have to go.

I just bought an Ericson 25+

This boat seems to be in good shape, but the interior has some dry rot issues. Someone was using it for a live aboard at one time, and between the propane heat and dampness form the person living in it well some some of the wood work and cushions need replaced. Rather than wade though all the...
