    E 32 Hull Wiki

Don't think this is included? There's a 1986 32-3 in Venice, Florida. I can't make out the name (someone do a "zoom, enhance.."). https://www.sailboatlistings.com/view/86101

    E32-3 compared to catalina 30-2

Thanks for the kind offer! Don't think I'd feel comfortable imposing on someone else's boat, but good to confirm that others are enjoying the E32 on the chessie! And if you decide you need couple extra feet in a few years maybe I'd be in a position to take the 32 of your hands ;)

    E32-3 compared to catalina 30-2

No matter which boat I buy I wouldn't be able to avoid tweaking and customizing with endless projects. I have a mental illness called "engineer" with no know cure.. I enjoy the research, fixing, upgrading (within reason, I do have a life and want to actually sail). But I definitley don't want a...

    E32-3 compared to catalina 30-2

I was thinking of this one, an 87 32-3 for $30k. https://www.yachtworld.com/boats/1987/ericson-32-3574773/ Unfortunatly I'd like to keep my little boat a few more years. I love the simple systems, the laughably easy single-handling with whiney kids on board, the tiller steering, the cheap slip...

    E32-3 compared to catalina 30-2

Thanks for the extensive response! Lots of great info to think about. My current boat is already 30 years old, so familiar with that. But it has an outboard and porta-potti, so avoided the major issues of engine and plumbing.. That would be a learning curve. Unfortunately staying in my price...

    E32-3 compared to catalina 30-2

Good points. Currently on 2nd season with a Seaward 23. Tiny trailer sailor/mini-cruiser whatever you want to call it. Though I keep it in a marina. Also a bit "above average quality" boat I believe. Another rare boat I had to search quite a bit for, and pay more. I don't mind paying for...

    E32-3 compared to catalina 30-2

Thanks. Realize these qualities are bit nebulous, and get thrown around a lot. And some just love to hate on popular boats.. But certainly sounds like E32 might be a more pleasant sail experience, at a slight cost of interior space. Which is a trade I'm fine with.

    E32-3 compared to catalina 30-2

I don't think I said this? Not my main focus, but certainly wouldn't mind. Double berth is great, but for our use I just don't think it's the best layout..

    E32-3 compared to catalina 30-2

Not necessarily. I don't like the look of the layout on the 200 as much, prefer the dinette. And it's a cool design, but there are certainly compromises in cramming a separate aft cabin into a 32 footer. I think I'm fine with the layout of the 32-3, the double berth is not a huge draw. Hence why...

    E32-3 compared to catalina 30-2

Thanks. That's similar to what I saw. But like I said if we sail say 20 nm, that means we just get there 6 minutes faster, over 4 hours? Not exactly something to worry about. And 6 ft can be an issue here, I'd have to look for a shoal or wing keel model. I've read other less concrete things...

    E32-3 compared to catalina 30-2

Hi. Looking for totally biased opinions when considering my possible upgrade (still years off probably when kids are bit older). Us: upper Chesapeake. Two kids ~6, 8 years old when I plan to buy. Weekend/week cruises. Want to keep it simple (no AC, hot showers, microwave etc). I've been in a...
