E27 Toe Rail Repair or Replacement.

Sorry I don't come around here much, so I am a little late. Since it was in bad shape, and I couldn't find a suitable replacement. I removed the rub rail from my Ericson 25 mk1 last year, grinding it all off a section at a time. Glassing it over with 4+ layers. Smoothed it out. Swore I would...

New sails - no 'local' sailmakers.

If it was within your price range I have to say Good choice Frank, I may be wrong, but I believe UK makes at least some of their sails right in Sydney, and it's nice seeing our money stay within BC. Precision has theirs made overseas. For me, another aspect is I am planning on selling my 25...

New sails - no 'local' sailmakers.

UK sails is in the same British Columbia city as Precision. They are both run by wonderful, knowledge people. If I was well off, and had an expensive boat I would choose UK sails any time. However for the average person, and average boat the extra expense is hard to justify. For me it's honestly...

This is One Tough Little Boat [Renovating a 1973 E25 CB]

Thank you Frank, The yellow line will be replaced come spring. The hole is smoother on the ropes surface than the other side. Now that we are on the topic of ropes, I am wondering what the best ( affordable ) floating line is for tenders

This is One Tough Little Boat [Renovating a 1973 E25 CB]

We are blessed with an Indian Summer, so I decided to take advantage of it by installing a larger anchor pipe. The ( possibly ) original one was missing the cap when I bought the boat and too small for the rope to chain loops. My chain easily fits in the locker now. With 200' of 1/2 inch...

Converting helm back into a tiller

I do respect you in every way Christian and value your knowledge. At this time I still prefer the KISS rule. I should mention, my 25' is my first sailboat and I still have lots to learn. Plus my list will probably change some before my purchase. When it's time for my third boat I will likely...

Converting helm back into a tiller

I have a list of what I want on my next boat, and #1 is something in the 30 - 35 foot range. #2 is Tiller steering. Which pretty much rules out any Ericson I have look at. If it isn't too hard to convert them over I may still consider an Ericson. Although one thing I still hate is that wall or...

New sails - no 'local' sailmakers.

WOW, that is what I call Fast Service, I am looking forward to your post on them They made sails for a friend of mine, and he thought the quality was excellent. Since he used to design and build high budget yachts I trust his opinion more than most peoples.

This is One Tough Little Boat [Renovating a 1973 E25 CB]

It looks like I don't visit here often enough, The sailing this summer went well. The only issues being a spun propeller and I ripped the ( possibly original ) mainsail with a 30+ knot gust. I had already been looking into a used sail and had it days later. I didn't travel as much as I wanted...

New sails - no 'local' sailmakers.

Ron over at Precision, in Sydney BC is great dealing with. I haven't placed my order yet but he gave me several pointers how to measure them up. Besides Precision has a sale going on at the moment.

This is One Tough Little Boat [Renovating a 1973 E25 CB]

Just a quick update, My port side bulkhead is pretty much done. As you can see there was an amazing spot for a fire extinguisher. I always felt it would make a nice storage area for plates, a little frequently used food and so on. So now mine has just that. The bottom 3 photos are the little...
