Removal of fuel tank in 32-3

As I remember (3 years ago?), that's right.

Removal of fuel tank in 32-3

Thinking it through first and working it from the deck end it really was not that bad a job once the tank was out. iirc The hose was only about 5-6 ft long.

Removal of fuel tank in 32-3

Seems to me I cut the fill and vent hoses at the tank, then once the tank was out undid the deck screws for the fill port and pulled them up thru the deck as a set. You can pull them up a bit to get to the tie-wraps. Just make sure to tie a string to the tank end of the old fill hose before...

Replacing Fixed Windows Research [Master Thread]

It’s been several years and I believe there are more photos somewhere around here, but no I did not use pre-made gaskets. Was just on the boat last week and there were no leaks. I used the 3M black butyl that any auto parts store carries to seal the acrylic pane and hold it in a fixed position...

Another way to do solar relatively inexpensively

I have a commercial account with WestMarine and because of that discount have theirs installed. If paying retail I probably would've gone basic wet cell.

Another way to do solar relatively inexpensively

Now that it has been up for a while somebody here asked if I'd post how I put in an inexpensive solar system. We have two small fans and a 35L fridge that are left on at all times and only 2 AGM batteries to support them. Because I already had the 100W panels the entire system was under $200 and...

How many ways can one simple pulley be installed wrong?

Came across this after the neighbor non-mechanical owner said he had trouble putting a flag up after changing the line. Thought it'd get a few chuckles here or maybe some eye-rolls. 1. It's obviously installed upside down. 2. The screw was probably used because the u-bracket is spread too...

    How far is too far?

Maybe but Chicago is one of my least favorite cities. There are only two seasons, Winter and Construction.

    Electrical woes

If the power delivered to the dock is the problem then others on the dock should have the same issue, so I'd start by asking others. Next, I'd stick atemporary leads from your polarity tester into the dock outlet. After this you are looking at boat issues. Since installing the Smartplug seems...

    How far is too far?

Closest water for us is an hour and fortunately we love the little marina we found at that distance. https://www.hammockisland.com/ I had the previous boat where it took 1:25 each way on a good day and found that it was too far. Chesapeake Bay Bridge traffic could take that beyond two hours...

Cockpit light and USB - Most useful update ever!

Cockpit light and USB - Most useful update ever!

Thought I'd share this little project because it's turned out to be SO useful in the cockpit. For power source I had an unused breaker and the reason for using an illuminated switch is that it is a reminder when the power is on. The USB outlet has its own on/off switch. The light is bright but...
