    hi guys sorry for no responses but i was super busy and didn't have chance to go to the boat for last 3 weeks. i replaced interior frame pieces with L shape teak molding . the only problem was that molding didn't go deep enough inside to cover the gap so i had to rip it on table saw little...

    it took me about two full days to the point where i could start with coats and then just 3 weeks to finish all coats from both sides :egrin: :egrin:

    i'm about to start this job on my 29. i didn't take the windows a part so i don't know what kind of gasket will be there but here is the link for company that makes rubber gaskets http://www.wefcorubber.com/default.asp let us know if any of their gasket worked for you. paul

    front hatch i did build new hatch too . its really easy and cost is about $100/ per hatch. i used acrylic from tap plastic and teak from http://macbeath.com/ they have good prices. i didn't use the screws to hold the glass down instead i used 3M vhb tape. ( will see how it will hold up) here...

    thanks for posting those pictures. the distance between the bolts looks the same. i found this thread http://www.ericsonyachts.org/infoexchange/showthread.php?t=7214&highlight=masthead+sheaves and its looks like my sheaves have really deep groove. maybe they are not original to the boat. here...

    is this an original factory setup ? to me the sheaves are really close together and one side is already cutting the mast. as i was the one who did the winching and my wife was taking pictures and checking things a cant really say if there were any welded holes from the past thanks Paul :egrin...

    we just bought 1972 ericson 29 hull #171. the boat got yanmar diesel with 150 hours and is in pretty nice shape , except some little projects ,like bulding new forward hatch , sanding companionway , resealing portlights and some chainplates work. so soon i will start bugging you for some info...
