sandblast

What would a sandblasted SS surface look like ? I imagine a satin look, not shiny but matte and possibly appealing ? I don't have a sandblaster but I do have a very nice used sink that is about to find its way aboard La Petite. The other alternatives is steel wool pad unidirectional buffing...
