1980 E-38 Round Mast original or replaced with an aftermarket item?

Hey there friends. I took a peek at an unusual 1980 E-38. Did the older boats have a round mast rather than the more common "oval" that isn't really oval? (Kenyon if I recall.)

My 1980 has the Kenyon "oval" mast. Not sure it is the original, but I think it is.

I can't recall seeing a round aluminum mast.

There have been and are composite tubes, the miniTransAt used them, for a while at least, as well as the unstayed bendy-mast cruising boasts.

Mine is a standard Kenyon, and the several early 80's 38s I looked like all had Kenyons.
