30 plus

Frank Langer

1984 Ericson 30+, Nanaimo, BC
Hi,
If you search this site you will find lots of information on the E30+ boats. We have had our 1984 E30+ for the past nine years and we love it. The design looks good and she sails really well. It's easy to single-hand this boat, but we have also had up to seven people aboard for a day sail, and have had five adults aboard for a week at a time--cozy but doable.

The only shortcoming that we have found is a bit of a lack of storage space compared to some boats. We manage, but a few more cupboards and drawers would be helpful.

These boats are now over 30 years old, so maintenance is important. Ports leaking, rudder getting saturated, anchor locker leaking into the v-berth area, etc. are all to be expected. A good survey would be helpful.

Let us know if you have specific questions. However, if the boat you are asking about has been well-maintained, they are a great boat!

Frank
