32-2 Wheel and Tiller

I recently visited a 32-2 for sale. One thing that caught my eye was that while there was a wheel and binacle it also had a the fitting for a tiller. Is that a factory feature of the 32-2? I can think of a few reasons why it would be helpful and none against.

Lots of boats with wheels have means to rig an emergency tiller in case of failure in the more complex wheel system. A wheel system can fail from breakage of the cable or chain, or even of the helm pedestal itself. So being able to rig a tiller can be a literal lifesaver.

It seems better than the galvanized pole in the socket emergency tiller system in some vessels. You would hardly miss a beat.
