(custom) O-34 Line Drawings

First off, it's great to have a graphic artist as a friend and crew member. Our collaborations over the years created the Shoe String graphics, the A-sail graphic and a series of t-shirts. There's been lots of entertainment in the process.

A simple question ("do you think you're up to creating an accurate line drawing of Shoe String?") culminated in these attachments, beginning with an answer to his question "what's a line drawing?". And thus the Process began...

It took a while and at least 4 renderings per view, but eventually we arrived at "Print!". I believe we got the cabin layout correct (with Loren's help and keen eye) and the fixed port lites. The rudder shows the Cal 40 upgrade and the bow includes the Trogear sprit. The keel is accurate. The A-sail is specific to Shoe String. There is no pole for a symmetric kite (never was, as delivered from the factory).

I've been assured that these files can be modified, if needed, to reflect a typical O-34. The Plan View should be good to go 'as is' for the other O-34 owners.

On to the day. Take care.

That's awesome. A worthy effort.

After a few years of hunting for a better copy of the Olson 911S line drawing I finally gave up and drew my own by tracing the original one in AutoCAD. It isn't perfect and I'm currently making a few tweaks, but it's nice to have something that could be put on crew shirts and the like that is closer to the actual boat.

Precisely the thinking! And I've got the Crew t-shirt sizes in a file, ready to submit to my t-shirt guy (another in a series...). It's been a 'year-by-year item, 'cept for last year (which shoulda gone w/o sayin')...
