E36C Recovery

As I recover from the recent loss of my 30+ Ericson, I am surfing the internet for a replacement. there is a E-36C 1077 posted as an estate sale on Lake Champlain. It has my interest as she has always been in fresh water and she has been land bound for an uncertain time.

I am interested in fellow E-36C owners opinions and thoughts on what to look for in an on-site inspection

This sounds like the one we looked at in 2019. If you KNOW what you're doing, it might be a good deal for you. 36C is an incredibly roomy boat. Unfortunately for us, we saw too many red flags that we just didn't have the time nor expertise to deal with. The worst thing was that when we felt around the ceiling in the cabin, a lot of rotted wood fell out. We took this as telling us the entire deck may need to be repaired.
If you know what you're doing - I'd hate to see this otherwise beautiful boat on the scrap heap. It needs work, but in the right hands would once again be a gem.
This boat has not always been in fresh water. The sellers told us how their father had often sailed the Atlantic coast in it.

Take a look at this one.
